THIS IS CANCER

Hi All,

This is my first real attempt at blogging. I would have thought it easier than it was. Turns out it is a little harder to get started writing about something so personal. After all, I am the girl ALWAYS running her mouth about something… I guess we see how it goes at the same time.

I’m just dipping my toes into the shallow end today. Next time I will dive right in and state the obvious, YES, I HAVE CANCER. Now that is out-of-the-way, we can move on. If nothing else, I promise you laughs along the way.

Where to begin... I'm a cancer survivor, so I'm a warrior when I need to be. I'm a mother to 2 wonderful daughters. They also happen to be my favorite humans. I'm someone's daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, friend, niece. Most importantly, I am unashamedly me. Simply put, what you see is what you get. I've had a few rotations around the sun. I have learned that life is far too short to waste on people and things that aren't important to you. I have a wonderful family that means everything to me. My friends are my ride-or-die people. I wouldn't change my circle for anything in the world. They are precious to me. I worked for many years in the healthcare industry and in education, specifically Special Education. I love helping people find their way. This passion has been my driving force in my work life. I started writing when I returned to school. I enjoyed it and found it was therapeutic as I was going through a major life change. As I shared my work with others, I found that what I had to say was helpful for others going through similar situations. This became my inspiration for writing and starting my blog. I hope that you enjoy my blog! I promise you will laugh and cry with me along the way.

  6. I totally think this is a great idea! I wish I had done it with my own cancer journey so that I could remember things better and help others through when it’s their time to battle. Keep up the fight, my brave, strong friend. It will suck during the journey but I have no doubt you will be victorious!

    1. You are my hero and inspiration!!! You took it head on and fought like %^#! I just thought that my being quiet wouldn’t help anyone. I figure if this is what I’m dealt, I can use it to help others. I think of you so often!!!! You really are a rockstar and such a great example of guts, grace, and dignity.
